The junior high volleyball team played their first game last night against Tinora. The 7th grade worked hard but lost in 2 sets while the 8th grade fought and won in an impressive 2 sets 25-23, 25-22.
They are back in action Tuesday at Paulding.
Both boys and girls cross-country teams were victorious over Archbold at a two-way meet at the Archbold reservoir.
In the girls' race, Bryan won with a score of 16 to 45. Kate Thormeier led the way with a first place finish in 14:51. Other finishers were Ava Zimmerman in 2nd, Ava Lambert in 3rd, Caitlyn DeWitt in 4th, Josey Arnold in 6th, Kelby Knight in 7th, Casey Xie in 10th, and Drew Smith in 12th.
In the boys' race, Bryan won with a score of 24 to 33. Gunner Davis paced the team with a 2nd place finish in 14:15. Other finishers were Nye Bradbee in 3rd, Corey Minck in 4th, Collin Rachel in 7th, Dominic Young in 8th, Jack Kennedy in 9th, Will Roberts in 15th, and John Dalrymple in 18th.
The team will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon at the Golden Bear Invitational.
Junior High cross country had their first meet at Defiance Early Bird Invite Saturday. There were no teams scored just individual results. All ran very well, many got their personal best times, and it was a great start to the season.
